Tajun, a classy mare by Taj Alriyadh, out of Unavoidable, was claimed by Duane Hamamura and Kari Toye at Emerald Downs for a mere $6250. She quickly rose up the claiming ranks, winning at the $10000, $16000, and $40000 claiming levels, before becoming a solid allowance and stakes runner at Emerald Downs.

Her regular rider is Vince Ward, shown riding her below. Vince also doubles as a computer salesman, in Spokane, and has flown over to Auburn to assume the riding duties on Tajun. Tajun will likely have some time off, to resume the 1998 Emerald Downs campaign in full force.
